Nyob zoo!
Wow, what a week! There was so much going on. I don't even know where
to start...
I guess I'll start with last Pday. So we went on a hike to Mt. Baldy
in Eagle River. It was a really pretty hike. It was raining but that
didn't stop us. We just sang hymns all the way up and it was a blast.
When we were near the top it had stopped raining and we got over the
fog. There were breaks in the fog and we could see the trees and the
fields down below us. It was amazing.
We again had done a lot of service. We helped people move, helped at
the botanical garden and fed the homeless shelter. We also gutted
fish!
Now to the pinnacle event of the week: President Nelson! President
Nelson of the Quorum of the 12 Apostles and President Gong of the
Seventy came up to Alaska and decided to see us missionaries! They had
some trainings to do here and decided to make time for us. It was
amazing. I got to shake both their hands and the spirit was
incredible. They are truly servants of the Lord. When they taught,
they were both incredibly funny and very profound at the same time. It
was amazing!
The subject line comes from President Nelson this week. He was talking
to us about callings and releases. He then turned to President
Robinson (who comes home with me) and said: "Enjoy your release, some
of us have to die to be released." Everybody was laughing and he just
chuckled up on the pulpit.
We had a special Stake Conference and Bishop Davies of the Presiding
Bishopric was president. He talked about the Book of Mormon and
temples. It was amazing! We had 3 investigators there and they felt
the spirit and learned a lot.
We got an investigator on date this week. He has been coming to church
for months but we finally asked him if he was willing to join if we
taught him and he said yes. We set a date for the 24th. He has been
coming for months and listening as we have been teaching some other
investigators. So he will be ready quick. We started officially
teaching him this week and he took it well. Since he is 17, we will
have to get permission from the parents, so I will be trying to teach
them of course too!! They are already Christian so we just have to
help them gain testimonies of the Book of Mormon.
We are going on an 11 mile hike and have no time. Sorry I couldn't
reply back to everyone. I think I got everyone covered with this
email.
Church is true everybody! Have a good week!
